Well-Spent Sunday at Art:1
Call me an old-fashioned, but I really love going to an art gallery or a museum.
I love seeing those paintings, sculpture, and all the other things, although I don't really understand art, hahaha.
But who cares as long as I enjoyed it right?
Designed by Sardjono Sani (Kemang Icon), Art:1 was
finally completed in 2011. The modern minimalist architecture building
reveals a total space of 4,000sqm which is home to Art:1 New Museum and
Art Space:1. The monochromatic white grey building stands almost
invisible with a red gate entrance made of steel. Inside, only a streak
of black and red has been added. These are the only colors that continue
through the heart of Art:1. White wash walls permeates throughout in
order to accommodate and support the artworks on display. On the lobby
foyer stands a commissioned artwork by artist Sunaryo titled “Titik
Jeda” (Crossing Point). The artwork describes the philosophy of Art:1
and its vision for building a strong infrastructure for art in
Indonesia. The result is a beautiful form where art, people and
structure are integrated as one. The work has also inspired the Art:1
logo and our slogan, ‘Art For Everyone’.
Art:1 New Museum features a more conventional, rectangular design which is straight forward and easy to navigate. The three floors of exhibition spaces are supported by a skylight that runs all through the levels providing a connection throughout the space while utilizing plenty of natural light for ergonomic viewing. Art Space:1 provides a more contemporary feel with exposed beams, video rooms and hidden corners, encouraging viewers to explore, interact and be curious not only through its collections but also through the individually designed three levels of art space. The first floor opens to a wide area for information point and a bar service.

I wish someday there will be a boy who ask me to go on a date at art gallery or museum, HAHAHA.
There are some of my favorite paintings, I don't even know why I like them, hahaha.
Maybe it simply because you'll like an artwork not because they're beautiful, it simply because they make you feel something, right?
Well, I have one thing to tell you all.
Don't spend all your weekends in the mall.
Go explore your city.
Go to art galleries.
Go to museums.
Go to libraries.
You can have a lot more fun there! Believe me, okay?

Explore jakarta kuy
